Long time readers will know of the series – The BEST Valentines EVER – that I did last year on ways in which you can show your loved one just how much you love them. I got tonnes of emails after that about how much of a success it was and how I should be a love guru. Therefore, I’m going to put out another set here because, well, you know, I love and care for you. Here’s my 2014 list!

Thanks for the smile so early in the morning. It got my day off to a great start. I Would add to your list, getting the SAS to parachute in through the bedroom window singing you are my snuggle bunny, at the top of their voices just as the clock chimes midnight. OK, I admit it but don’t tell anyone …! I buy my Valentine cards in Poundland and wine and dine my love in Mcdonalds (a big mac and a large cola, now you can’t get any more romantic than that, can you)!

I told my woman to get dirty and now the only dirt I see is changing baby diapers. Then I told her how I felt about that and that everyday should be Valentine’s day and she told me to do the laundry and dishes and don’t forget to put out the garbage and map the floor as well. Now I know, my telling her to get dirty was wrong, wrong, wrong…
So be careful with what you wish.

I recognize a couple of kanji in here. This must be a pretty old poem, since there’s literally no hiragana or katakana in there.
The one to the right says “onna”, meaning “woman”. Another is the kanji for “water”.
Perhaps it’s a fanciful comparison of the kunoichi’s grace to the flow of a river. I’ll probably have to come back to it when I get to further kanji, but hey, one can dream right?

Haha. I just googled “romantic japanese poem” and it showed me a picture of this. As the context was entirely written in kanji, I had no idea what it was and just posted it on here.
